Graduate Career Centre PETEX 2010, 23-25 November Earls Court, London

The Petroleum society of Great Britain (PESGB) and Working Smart Limited are delighted to announce the first dedicated Graduate Career Centre at a UK oil and gas industry event.

This new initiative at the PETEX 2010 conference and exhibition builds on the success of student activities at PETEX 2008 that attracted in excess of 200 graduates from the UK’s top geoscience and engineering universities. Our industry recognises the growing skills gap faced by oil and gas companies and the continued demand for energy supply, both hydrocarbon and renewables. Therefore, it is imperative that we attract and maintain a supply of talented young geoscientists and engineers to ensure the sustainability and future success of our business. Universities participating in the student programme at PETEX 2010 include Birmingham, Derby, Durham, Imperial College, Leeds, London South Bank, Manchester, Royal Holloway and Southampton. More than 270 students have already been registered to attend through their university faculties. The Graduate Career Centre at PETEX 2010 is an area of the exhibition floor dedicated to graduate recruitment. This area will provide space for oil and service company exhibitors, interview rooms and a networking area where employers can connect to the next generation of oil and gas employees. The Graduate Lunch at PETEX 2010 will offer a forum for students and companies to meet together in a relaxed atmosphere to discuss potential career opportunities within the oil and gas industry.
