Overview
A highly reputable reservoir knowledge based Company seeks a Graphic Designer to generate and optimise graphics for their oil and gas technical reports. Applicants are invited with 5+ years’ relevant experience, particularly in technical illustration and/or cartography. Knowledge of geology would be desirable.

Their experienced geoscientists and reservoir engineers have analysed over 1000 proven fields and reservoirs, and the facts and findings are made available online to their clients. This information is accessed by 10K+ users from national/state oil companies to small independents and is vital for verifying exploration and production hypotheses and increasing confidence in E&P decisions.

 
Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Content Manager this role encompasses many functions including:
  • Generate geological and reservoir-engineering graphics.
  • Modify and improve published technical illustrations for use in proprietary reports.
  • Optimize the appearance of report text, tables and illustrations.
  • Liaise with geologists, reservoir engineers and others.
  • Collaborate with the Companies graphics team in the Houston office.
  • Provide graphics and design inputs to Company marketing/corporate imaging
 
Preferences

Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
  • 5+ year’s relevant experience, particularly technical illustration and/or cartography.
  • Knowledge of computer graphics software, particularly Adobe InDesign & Illustrator, Photoshop highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent drafting skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Work to deadlines and to a high standard.
