Interested in TAX FREE Role? A major global engineering and design service provider seeks a Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Electrical Engineering to provide advice and expertise on offshore electrical engineering projects. You will also be evaluating current company standards and suggesting improvements in order to align them with international standards. Applicants invited with a minimum of 15 years’ as a Senior Electrical Engineer and/or Electrical Engineer in Planning, Engineering and Design combined with previous offshore work experience. Previous experience as an SME would be highly advantageous for this role. Working on a Tax Free, Expat residential permanent role, you will be exposed to a great opportunity to develop your specific expertise working across various stakeholders on high value projects. This role is offered in adherence with Saudi Labour Law and therefore these positions are only open to Males and under the age of 60.

The Company employs 5000+ people and formed in 2009 from the integration of two of the Kingdom’s engineering companies. They provide engineering, project management, procurement and construction management solutions for Oil/Gas, Pipelines, Healthcare, Waste and Wastewater, Petrochemical etc.

Al-Khobar is a large city located in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the coast of the Persian Gulf and is linked to Bahrain via the causeway.

This is a residential permanent position (i.e. not rotational) and the Company provides 22 – 28 days holiday (depending on grade) plus you are entitled to all of the Saudi Public holidays (circa 10 - 14 days). The Company will provide accommodation for single or family status in a secure compound. They will organise all mobilisation / demobilisation transport and you will be entitled to 2 flights home per year.

Due to visa restrictions within Saudi, there is a preference for American, Canadian, British, Filipino, Pakistani and Indian nationals.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have
  • Full time degree (no long distance learning degrees) in Electrical Engineering essential.
  • BOSIET - Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency training certification essential.
  • Professional or registered Electrical engineer certifications from recognized institutions or certifying boards highly desired.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer and/or Electrical Engineer essential.
  • Previous offshore electrical engineering experience essential.
  • Good knowledge of electrical safety codes, Electrical Hazardous area classification codes, international electrical codes, standards & specifications related to Electrical facilities for Off-shore Oil and Gas projects essential.
  • Experience with ARAMCO standards relating to electrical engineering essential.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi or the Middle East advantageous.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of solutions to complex problems.
  • Competent with the ability to lead a team of discipline engineers and provide engineering support.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to stay abreast of new trends and technologies in your field.
  • Proactive, flexible and dedicated team player, able to achieve goals.
  • Enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team essential.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage and work effectively with team players from various cultures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationships and to provide advice and guidance on your area of expertise essential.
  • Valid driving license of Saudi or country of origin highly advantageous.
  • Ability and willingness to travel offshore.
  • Ability to lift and carry things whilst offshore.
Other Information
Package: A highly attractive Tax Free salary is on offer dependent on skills and experience. In addition, a full Ex-Pat package for single or family status is available including housing, transport, 2 flights home per year, health and dental insurance 22-28 days holiday plus all Saudi national holidays which are circa 10-14 days.
