A technology driven Company who are committed to enhancing field operation efficiency and HSE seeks a Project Manager for Marine Field Operations. The Company has developed a Marine Management technology that manages the risks associated with various operations in the field (e.g subsea construction, diving, tanker loading, seismic acquisition, etc.). Working with end clients, you will manage the optimisation and planning of their operations in the Exploration and Production environment. The focus of this role is on the coordination of simultaneous and concurrent marine operations to ensure that HSE standards are met and operational efficiency is maximised. Applicants are invited with at least 10 years marine operations in the E&P environment combined with strong project management/leadership skills. Due to the nature of the role, you will be expected to travel away from home for variable amounts of time. With the launch of this well-received technology, this is a great opportunity.

The Company’s products and services range from acquisition and navigation systems to survey design and marine management solutions. Their marine management software combines temporal project planning with 3D spatial awareness. It integrates AIS, GPS, GIS, MetOcean and visual data between onshore operations, offshore structures and other vessels to create a common operational picture. It delivers enhanced safety and efficiency for offshore oil and gas operations, such as tanker loading, seismic surveys, pipeline and platform construction and supply vessel movement to name but a few. The software enables visualisation and sharing of real-time operational data across companies and third-party vessels. It enhances safety, increases operational efficiency and reduces costs from unplanned downtime, overruns and incidents.

The Company has generated a great deal of interest in this new technology and now seek a proven Project Manager to work with Clients to build their platform, help manage its deployment and provide support and advice in assessing risk, and optimisation operations.
Reporting to Director of Software and Services this role encompasses many functions including:
  • Become competent in the Company’s suite of solutions, services, work flows and practices.
  • Setup new marine field installations - data acquired from public domain and client.
  • Monitor all activity in the operational area.
  • Actively compile information of other marine operations and Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS).
  • Provide operational plan based on latest analysis.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems & report appropriately.
  • Liaise with clients in a professional manner as necessary.
  • Provide customers with onsite technical support.
  • Support and maintain existing systems in the field.
  • Prepare and manage the COP (Common Operational Picture) software environment for each project.
  • Work closely with clients to ascertain feedback on the technology, and understand and document new requirements.
  • Work closely with the Development Team providing client feedback, relaying new requirements/suggestions and influencing future advancements for field ready operations.
  • Assist and co-ordinate testing of software as required.
  • Assist with various data management issues such as recording and administration of incoming and outgoing data.
  • Attend to incoming customer support queries.
  • Set up, run and troubleshoot field simulations.
  • Configure in-house support, test and training equipment.
  • Deliver product training and/or specialist skills training where appropriate.
This is a new role for the Company relating to new simultaneous operations products and services that are ready for launch and as such they are looking for a dynamic individual with excellent project management skills who can ensure that operational efficiency is maximised.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematical science, surveying or navigation preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in marine operations in the E&P environment essential.
  • Operation management experience in production, construction, maintenance or/and vessels highly desired.
  • Ability to pass offshore fitness, medical and safety training essential.
  • Strong GIS skills desired. Previous experience of Linux/Unix essential.
  • Able to articulate technical requirements to software team and discuss coherently with clients essential. Detailed training provided on technology.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills essential. The ability to apply these skills to problem solving tasks is key.
  • Experience or knowledge of other Marine management technologies desired (ESRI, Kongsberg, Fugro)
  • Proven project management/leadership skills essential.
  • A solid understanding of HSE procedures essential
  • High attention to detail with the ability to produce consistently high quality work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills – must be able to develop and maintain good working relationships, and converse with individuals at various technical levels.
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in demanding and sometimes harsh operational environments.
  • Strong organisation skills essential. The ability to manage and prioritise workloads.
  • Proactive, and a dedicated team player with the willingness to approach problems as opportunities for improvement.
  • Flexible in working patterns - long hours may be required whilst offshore.
  • Willingness to travel and work offshore – you may be required to be in the field for extended periods where conditions are remote and demanding.
